Latest Information.
This page will be for new information on my 65C02 SBC.
I have been hard at work in the last couple of months, firstly with adapting a couple of 'AliExpress' SDTF card->Floppy drives, and secondly implementing lots of changes to the software I have on my personal SBC. I am now using exclusively the latest WDC65C02 Printed Circuit Board. It has provision for a choice of ACIA addresses in order to be a bit more UK101/OSI compatible.
I have wanted to move over to having 14 Character Filenames in OS65DV3.3. In order to do that there are a couple of changes to make in the track 1 part of DOS. I also created a program which will convert an existing disk directory from 6 character names to 14 character names, retaining track info etc. It does mean there is less capacity in the directory, but I cannot imagine needing to save 32+ files.
I have also taken the opportunity to replace the monitor ROM completely with OS65DV3.3 in EEPROM. It was a lot of work to shoehorn it in @ $F000-$FFFF but it now works well. I no longer need Basic, Assembler and Extended Monitor in ROM as I can load it from Disk as and when.
I also added to my system with a Forth-79 implementation complete with disk handling and editing included. It can be called at the A* prompt by typing FT
The DI and PU commands have been extended. DI lists the directory. (!DI) in AS & EM. Forth has it's own DIR command. PU now handles Filenames and they do NOT have to pre-exist.
There are some more commands added to make the software more usable:-
MS will allow you to save a memory range by name with an execution address. ML lets you load a track back into the memory it was saved from. MR loads and runs a program from the execution address.
In the Assembler there is now options to print the symbol table: SY displays it in the order the symbols were defined. SY N displays it sorted by name. SY V displays it sorted by value.
